Dream A Dream

I'm dreaming of a dream
A dream where you come to me
As I've envisioned many times
The dream where you are mine
The dream I dream of a place
That's you and me with no one else
A place I call my own
Even when I feel alone
I dream a dream of you
Sometimes I close my eyes to feel you
Sometimes I close my eyes to dream

There are times I close my eyes and
wonder what would it be like
If I could hold you one last time?
I know it's been forever
But you always cross my mind
And if I had the chance
I would never let you go
Because you've stayed with me forever

I'm dreaming of a dream
A dream where you come to me
As I've envisioned many times before
The dream I dream of a place
That's you and me with no one else
A place I call my own
Even when I feel alone
I dream a dream of you

Do you think that I could hold you
They way that you held me?
Those nights  I would cry
myself to sleep reaching for you
Things have changed since then
But I still need you
I may age each day
But I'll always be the girl that needs you
Can you hold me one more time
I just need one more time with you

I'm dreaming of a dream
A dream where you come to me
As I've envisioned many times before
The dream I dream of a place
That's you and me with no one else
A place I call my own
Even when I feel alone
I dream a dream of you

Take Back

The blossom of a cherry tree
Buds around chivalry
The thing they say that's dead and gone
The one that men forever pawn
The gentleman who no longer opens doors
To the man females consider poor
The man who no longer works for a place
To the man who thinks it's okay to be in a woman's face
The boys who were supposed to be men
Have lost themselves to something they can win
They thought this fight was quickly over
Little did either know they are about to be smothered
Completely cut off from the things they once knew
To learn about manner kin to something new
New to them but old to
What is it you're thinking? Can't you see?
Don't you know there was a time when people shared?
Don't you remember when people cared?
It is time to travel back to the era of trust
Time to take back every piece of rust
And polish and coat it with optimistic hope
Never forgetting sight of ways to cope
Instead of kicking and screaming about the negative change
Make a difference to the history and give it a name
Not something that can be easily misconstrued
But something that everyone of us can use
Go back to the times where things were simply put
Not tucked away,  waiting patiently for you to obey
Little Miss Sunshine you're gonna learn your place
Little boy Huey you will no longer be disgraced
Here and now we make our stand
To change history like sand
It is our time to be better
It is our time to to be direct

Stand

Should I stand, or should I bow?
One of life's many tough choices
How can I be ok with the things I see?
Have I become numb?
Maybe I've been blinded
But yet I still see
How can that possibly be?
Could it be that it's just a dream
Or am I suppressing it subconsciously?
The world is changing,
I am aware, but definitely wasn't prepared
How did we end up here?
The place where nobody respects another
The place where we're no longer our brother's keeper
Transitions to a negative decline quickly approaching
The only way to end is a demolition to what is currently the trend
A demolition to insecurities, arrogance, selfish tendencies
And everything else that denies community interaction
Time to shift back a decade or two
Time for us to learn different rules
In this time let's take a stand
No more being captive to the bottle in hand

Father's House

There's a place that I go where I can run
A place that I know I belong
In this place I am safe
No one can take me from my Father's hand
He holds me and tells me his master plan
My Father, the king of king knows everything
And inspite of me, he still loves me

In my Father's house there is a place
Where I know I belong
In his sacred grace
My Father lifts me high
He holds my head to the sky
And I know when I'm with him
Here's where I ought to be

In this place I know I'm loved
He tells me everyday
He says child come close
You are the one that I cherish most
He looks at me full of love
And I know in my heart
It's what I've dreamed of

Of a place I can go
In my Father's house
Where I know I belong
In his sacred grace
My Father lifts me on high
He holds my head to the sky
And I know when I'm with him
Here's where I ought to be

So many nights I cried on my knees
Asking and praying Lord please save me
And then one night I heard his reply
He said don't cry no more
I've been at your door
Waiting for you to let me in
Now I can begin
Healing the broken pieces of your heart
That's when I

Ran to the place where I know I'm loved
Here in my Father's house
Here is the place where I know I belong
In his sacred grace
My Father lifts me on high
He holds my head to the sky
And I know when I'm with him
Here's where I ought to be
Here's where I ought to be
Here in my Father's house

Ride

A river flowing through me
Gushing rapidly toward you
I shudder in the after thought just thinking about you
The plans we have to make one another call each other's name
Neither one of us ready to give up the leverage gained
You push for me and I pull for you
Each of us entwined in a web of disaster
Ride this roller coaster and continuing to mount
Which is worse?
The pain in the back, or the pain in between my thighs
Boy oh boy how I love this ride
The more I search for you the more I find
Ride
Ride
Ride until you can't go anymore
Sweat pouring as the room becomes warped
Breathing in you and you breathing in me
This has become the desire that we yield for
The addiction that keeps us coming back
What causes me to act so blindly?
What causes me to want to give up all control?
Is it me?
Is it you?
Man I swear this won't do
The answer is in here somewhere
Somewhere in this room
Only problem I'm having is getting rid of you

Past

Is it the ego that tears us apart
Or was it meant to be from the very start
Who was I to take control
Now all that's left is to patrol
There is no need to tell me nothing
That also means there is no touching
I can do bad all by myself
That means me and nobody else
This is not how I had it planned
Guess that's why I'm not the ruler of the land
It suck but oh well
At least I've a story to tell

From Me To You

Lover distant and long
Only you could feel this song
There is no bump in the melody
But a part meant for me
I wanted you to hear it now
Just in case you didn't see
That in this song that I wrote
There was only you and me
There was no this and that
But what we are and shall be
This wasn't the average song
But a song that only goes to one beat
It couldn't have been made overnight
Yet somehow some way we made it just right
There is no saying how we ended up here
Just glad to know that we both stayed here
In the same place at the same time
There wasn't a dream that could speak of this
But a will and way to make sure we found our way
The song is like Valentine's
But in everyway it seems to be everyday
The song that I made for you
Is the only song made for me too
